Week 6 Update

Hello everyone, this week you will be hearing from our business team, specifically those who have been helping with our impact award submission. My name is Geo Tucker and I’m the Business President of robotics. For those of you who do not know what the impact award is, the impact award is the most prestigious award a FIRST team can receive. It shows a commitment to the community and empowering everyone to explore STEM. The submission includes an essay, 14 executive summaries, and a video. In addition, we now have to prepare documentation and a presentation that will be shown to judges at our competitions. These past three weeks we have also been very involved in outreach, hosting booths at the Knights STEM Fair and Tempe Union Showcase. We also hosted an event at Arredondo Elementary with students to help them create balloon rockets. Next week we will be hosting an event at One n Ten, a LGBTQ nonprofit. It has been great updating you all and now I’ll pass it off to another business member.

I’m Piper and I’m the finance lead of AZTECH Robotics. For the past few weeks I have been focusing on our application for the impact award. This has included working on an essay and some short essay questions. We hope that this hard work will get us closer to winning impact and showing just how great our team really is.
