Week 7 Blog
Salutations everyone!! We are pleased to inform you all that our hard work these past 7 weeks have paid off tremendously, as Teca officially scored on all levels of the reef with driver controls! Today, our robot attended Duel in the Desert, a Week 0 practice arrangement that allows teams to practice on a full field (which we helped build), as well as cooperate with other teams in our area. Our names are Duncan and Evin, and we lead the programming subteam for AZTECH Robotics.
Just this past week, we finished the entire robot mechanically, which allowed us to finally test and modify the code we have been preparing since the start of the season. Despite limited testing time, we were able to get all of our code fully functional so far. Teca can now be controlled to score on all levels and pick up coral from the coral station. This is an amazing feat because it demonstrates all of the hard work we have put into this robot outputting amazing results. Not only is our hard work making an impact on the robot, but also in our community.
We ran a One n Ten event just last Tuesday that helped support LGBTQ+ students in our community, introducing them to STEM! Looking toward the future, we plan on repairing some of the damage that Teca undertook during the rigid testing, as well as integrating algae scoring and autonomous commands that control the robot without driver input. We are all extremely excited for what's to come next for this team this season, see ya next week!
